Once you have your account and Second Life is in your computer you will need to adjust yourself with the world and how it works.

Once you are accustomed with the mechanics of Second Life you can begin to think about what you could do to make $$ there.
The possibilities are really never ending! Some things you might do are; Clothes, Building Houses, Poses, Creating Animated Things, Sculptures, Hairstyling, Skins or Shapes, Elaborate Jewels, Shoes, Accessories, Furniture, Weapons, Planes, or start your own business services.
The entire world is run by the players who use SL!
Once you choose what you want to do you can then learn how to do it. This would be where you want to find a good guide and some information to help you through this important step. Beware paying insane prices to buy land.
When renting, check with other residents to learn if the virtual landlords are good and stable.
Sims with damage enabled are not commonplace, but if you see a heart by your name that means the area allows attacks. Don’t worry, if attacked you will return to your home. It’s just annoying.
